No account is needed to search. spipp.com sets no tracking cookies and loads no external fonts, analytics or advertising services.

What is stored

Search queries are not logged together with IP address, device or time. For suggestions we only count how often a query was made in total. Queries containing e-mail addresses or long numbers are not counted. Suggestions only appear after repeated use.

To prevent abuse the IP address is briefly used in memory for rate limiting, is not stored and is discarded after a few minutes. There are no access logs containing IP addresses.

For short search terms (to show a fact sheet) and if spipp.com finds too little, the search term (without IP address, device or time) is stored and sent to the open interfaces of Wikidata and Wikipedia (Wikimedia Foundation, USA) to find matching public pages. Our own crawler then fetches these pages and adds them to the search index. Queries containing e-mail addresses or long numbers are not used for this.

Your chosen appearance (light/dark) is stored only locally in your browser. Unless you choose otherwise, spipp.com shows your device language (as sent by your browser, no location lookup). If you pick a language in the menu, a cookie “hl” remembers only that choice for one year; “Automatic” deletes it.

No sale or sharing

spipp.com does not sell personal information and does not share it for advertising.

Do Not Track

spipp.com does not track you across other websites, whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.

Hosting

The website runs on a rented server of OVH US LLC in the United States. Connections are encrypted with HTTPS.

Legal basis

Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, the brief use of the IP address is based on the legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and available (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

People in search results

Public web pages may contain information about people. To request removal of a result, for example under the right to erasure, write to s@spipp.com with the exact address (URL) and the reason.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Because spipp.com stores no data about individual users, there is usually no data about you.
